Switching is simple

Bring your collection with you.

Coming from CellarTracker or InVintory? Export your cellar in a few minutes, send the file to your club, and your bottles, drinking windows and notes are waiting in your member app.

Step 1

Export

Download your cellar from the app you use today. The steps for each app are below.

Step 2

Send

Email the file to your club, or hand it over at your next visit. Nothing needs editing.

Step 3

Done

Your club imports it. We recognize both apps' files and match every column, and your club checks the list against your bottles as they arrive.

We never ask for your CellarTracker or InVintory password. You send a file, nothing more.

From CellarTracker

About two minutes. Export lives on the full CellarTracker website, so use a computer rather than the phone app.

On a computer, at cellartracker.com

  1. 1Sign in and open My Cellar.
  2. 2Switch the view to Individual Bottles. It lists each bottle with its location and bin, which keeps your notes on where everything was.
  3. 3Click Export at the top right.
  4. 4Keep the columns as they are, choose CSV (Excel or tab-delimited work too), and save the file.
  5. 5Email the file to your club.

Prefer one line per wine instead of per bottle? The Winesview exports that way, with a count for each. Either file works. Bottles you've already opened, or that haven't been delivered yet, are left out automatically.

From InVintory

About a minute, from your phone or a computer. InVintory exports a CSV file on every plan, including the free one.

iPhone or iPad

  1. 1Open Collection and tap Select all.
  2. 2Tap …, then Download CSV.
  3. 3Choose Grouped by bottle.
  4. 4Email it to your club, or save it to Files and send it later.

Android

  1. 1Open your collection and select your bottles.
  2. 2Tap …, then Download CSV or Share CSV.
  3. 3Choose grouped by bottle.
  4. 4Send the file to your club.

On the web

  1. 1Go to app.invintory.com/collection.
  2. 2Click Export CSV.
  3. 3Choose Group by bottle, then Export.
  4. 4Email the file to your club.

“Group by label” works too, with one line per wine and a count. Bottles you've already enjoyed are kept separately in InVintory and aren't part of the export, which is exactly right.

What comes across

  • Every bottle: producer, wine, vintage, size and quantity
  • Grape, region, country and appellation
  • Drinking windows, so ready-to-drink alerts work from day one
  • What you paid and what it's worth
  • Your own notes on each bottle
  • Where it sat in your old cellar, kept as a note on the bottle

Good to know

  • Your file is the starting list. Your club checks it against the bottles as they arrive and corrects anything that differs, so your app matches what is actually on the shelf.
  • Your old locations become notes, not shelf spots. Your club gives every bottle its own place when it arrives.
  • Community tasting notes and scores stay behind. They belong to the other app's community. Your own notes come with you.
  • Nothing is deleted from the app you're leaving. Exporting only makes a copy.

For storage clubs

Moving your whole club?

Whether your members tracked their own wine in CellarTracker or your club runs on InVintory today, we'll bring every member's collection across with you during onboarding. Your team uploads each file once; our importer recognizes both apps and maps every column, and your staff review it before anything is saved.
